Voices of Hope Choir

An exceptional choir...A supernatural experience!

Need for a new Community Choir

You are probably aware that churches on the West Coast are using Choral Music less and less.  With budget restraints in the public schools, music in general and Choral music particularly is falling away to sports and other demands on students, not to mention the draw of entertianment, video games and the home computer.  However, we believe that Choirs still have a place in the musical culture of America not to mention the culture in general. We know that there are singers in our churches and communities who want to sing.  With that in mind, on March 17th, 2007 I started a community choir built on excellence that will carry on the Choral tradition and provide a relevant model for Choral music in the future.  Voices of Hope Choir will not build on medeocirty.  It won't exist as a social club.  Voices of Hope will sing often and will sing well.  They will develope community while working hard towards excellence, singng a wide variety of music.  All of this as we strive to benefit others.

Looking for singers

If you know of good vocalists who have a desire to sing in a music community such as this, who have a level of musical ability where they won’t have to be spoon-fed and who you feel could contribute positively to a group pursuing excellence, please forward me their contact information or direct them to contact me by e-mail.

About Voices of Hope Choir

OUR MISSION:

Voices of Hope Choir is a non-profit, auditioned group who’s main focus is to perform benefit concerts that will fund the needs of our community, raise awareness of and quality of choral music, and honor God. Voices of Hope Choir is not affiliated with any particular church or denomination. The group seeks to share music with the masses and provide an atmosphere of growth and support in the music-making process.  Our desire is to encourage, uplift and enrich our audiences through our music.

OUR GOALS:

The group is modeled after The Gary Bonner Singer of Southern California and Breath of Aire from Seattle, WA. These groups have found great success in making a difference in the lives of people all over the world.  In the Voices of Hope Choir, our goals is that each person will 1) Experience a wide variety of musical styles; 2) Perform in exceptional venues; 3) Fellowship with other musicians; 4) Sing challenging music; and 5) Give to others through the gift of music and raising money to meet specific needs.

Leadership

As conductor of the Voices of Hope Choir, I bring over 15 years of experience in Choral Music.  With a B.A. in Music Education and a M.A. in Choral Conducting, both from Azusa Pacific University, I have had opportunity to effectively lead many choirs of various sizes and styles while making true, heart-felt music and worship the basis for all of it.  From the Show Choirs of Nogales H.S. in La Puente, CA to The Choir and Orchestra at Yorba Linda Friends Church, I have a proven record of making great music and impacting lives in the process. I have conducted music premieres for PraiseGathering Music Group at MusiCalifornia.  I have taught Choir at the high school level for 5 years and directed adult choirs in churches for over 10 years. I have been a workshop leader for the ACSI Convention in Anaheim, CA.  I've worked on several recording projects.  I've been a substitue teacher and have taught private voice lessons.  In addition to countless hours of conducting training with Dr. Gary Bonner,  I spent nearly 4 years as a vocalist traveling all over the West Coast as lead singer for The Crimson River Quartet.  My famliy is active in local church music ministry.
